BARNT Green Spartak have signalled their intent to take Midland Football Combination division one by storm next season with the capture of Stourbridge midfield ace Zahoor Suliman.
Highly-rated Suliman has joined GJ Singh's side on a one-year deal from the Midland Alliance club and his signature, from under the noses of Tipton Town and Rushall Olympic, ranks alongside Reckey Carter as Spartak's biggest transfer coup.
Boss Singh, named Midland Combination division two manager of the year, said: "We aim to have a very strong squad for next season which ever division we end up in. We have applied for promotion to the Premier Division but will be just as happy to go into division one."
Suliman becomes Spartak's third signing of the close season, joining goalkeeper Pete Maguire from Earlswood Town and Jaz Campbell from Alliance outfit Grosvenor Park.
Talks are also underway to bring Sean Williams in from Earlswood.
Singh's manager of the year award was followed up with the club scooping programme of the year at the Midland Combination annual dinner and dance at the Holte Suite, Aston Villa Football Club last Saturday.
Spartak start pre-season training on Thursday, July 10 and so far have friendlies lined up against Alvechurch, Solihull Borough and Massey Ferguson.
Dates are still to be confirmed.
