FORMER Studley skipper Mark Lewis says his under-performing teammates have thrown away the chance to land the title.

After losing out on the final day last season, the Washford Fields side have struggled to reassert themselves in a difficult start to the campaign.

The latest loss came against lowly Coleshill at the weekend and has caused Lewis to adjust his sights from the top position, which is some 33 points off.

A planned reshuffle of the Banks's Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League will see the top six teams in Divisions Two East and West merged into a new Division Two and the rest culled into a Division Three.

After dreaming of first division cricket last season, Studley are currently 17 points and two places short of retaining their second division status next year.

The club's Challenge Cup Knockout form is in stark contrast with Studley recording an upset in last week's 40 over game against first division Leamington.

Skipper Brandon Miller took 3-30 and Adrian Smith hit a half century as the visitors were comfortably sent packing with ten overs to spare. The win sets up a home quarter final against Knowle and Dorridge, one of the two surviving Premier Division sides, next Wednesday (6.30pm start).

The winners are at home to either Division One side Harborne or Studley's Division two East rivals Coleshill or Tamworth in the semi.

But Miller will be more concerned with picking up some valuable league points at bottom of the league Old Edwardians on Saturday (1pm start).

The hosts have yet to pick up a win or winning draw in seven attempts.
