BROMSGROVE'S brightest little stars will be shining their light at a fundraising show later this month.
Twinkle-toed youngsters from The Stage Door Dance Academy will be performing in Curtain Call at the Redditch Palace Theatre, in Alcester Street, on Friday and Saturday June 27 and 28.
Based at the Stoke Prior Village Hall, the show is the highlight of the academy's year and aims to raise pots of cash for the Young at Heart charity.
The support group, based at Birmingham Children's Hospital, helps families with children who have heart conditions. And it is a charity close to the heart of academy principal Martina Ponsonby as her son suffers from such a condition.
"We always try to raise money for a children's charity, so it can go from children to children," said Martina.
In recent years the annual show has raised cash for Chadsgrove School in Catshill, the Acorns Children's Hospice and the European Children's Fund.
"The Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club has been good enough to let us have our dress rehearsal there free of charge, which is fantastic," she added.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.15pm, are priced £5.50 and £4.50 and are available on 01527 65203.
However, rehearsing for Curtain Call has not been the only thing keeping the academy girls busy. In April they took part in the West Midlands Dance Festival, with eight of them collecting awards.
And last month, professional choreographer and performer Ricky Brown held a successful jazz workshop. He plans to return in September.
