COUNCILLOR David Barlow, how pedantic can you be?

If you want to complain about noise why not comment on the cars that drive past many people's homes with their music thumping out at 11 o'clock at night?

Or how about the recent thunderstorms? I'm surprised he didn't complain about that.

After all, they too scare pets, babies, and the disrupt students that he claims will be studying at 10.30pm when really they're probably settling down after a day of revision in front of the TV.

How he can say that it was a selfish act of the radio station, I really don't know.

I live closer to where the event was held than the councillor does, and no doubt a lot of people gain pleasure from watching the fireworks as I did.

It's not as if it was a weekly event. Surely the weeks coming up to bonfire night and after cause more distress to animals, and young and old people - but nobody complains about that.

Maybe it would be better for the councillor to set off some fireworks himself to resolve some of the city's problems - of which there are many - rather than complaining about a few fireworks that everyone enjoyed.
