TOWNSFOLK are being urged to get on their bikes to celebrate National Bike Week, which starts this Saturday.

Town cycling club Bromsgrove Olympique is holding a family fun evening with a mystery trail bike ride next Monday.

The ride will start at Speeds Cycles on Birmingham Road at 7pm. Cyclists will peddle around Bournheath and Dodford. There will be a stop at the Dodford Inn to quench thirsts.

The ride will be between five and ten miles long and youngsters under 16 are welcomed if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Clues will be hidden along the route and there will be a prize for all correct answers. There is no charge for the mystery trail but any donations will be given to local charities.

Next Tuesday, children and young people can try out a cycle skills session on the School Field at North Bromsgrove High. There will be a small charge of £1 per rider and the session will last approximately one and half-hours.

Experienced coaches will be on hand to advise on all aspects of cycling and provide help and advice. Access will be from the Stratford Road gate.

For more information about the mystery trail please call Glenys on 01527 833144 and for the bike skills call Ian on 01527 833847 or Geoff on 871687.
