CAMPAIGNERS for a Studley bypass have been left with more delay and uncertainty after 'draft revocation orders' for a western route around the village had to be republished.
The Highways Agency this week re-advertised the orders - which could signal the death knell for bypass hopes - because of 'statutory procedures not being followed' when published in September.
The government agency wants to revoke 1993 route orders for a bypass to the west of the village.
Studley Parish Council and Warwickshire County Council had already objected to the revocation orders, though Sambourne Parish Council were in favour as the potential route runs near the village.
The delay means a public inquiry on the matter, due to go ahead in the spring, is now unlikely to happen until February next year.
If the orders are revoked and responsibility for the A435 through Studley is handed from the Highways Agency to Warwickshire County Council, the chances of a bypass ever being built will be slim.
