A HIGH-FLYING air cadet has received a top award for his outstanding achievements in the past year.
Cadet Warrant Officer Timothy Pennock, aged 18, was awarded one of the prestigious Geoffrey deHavilland Flying Foundation medals at a ceremony in Lincolnshire on Sunday.
Timothy, a Malvern College pupil, has completed a gliding scholarship and an RAF flying scholarship on his way to being one of only nine cadets out of 9,000 to receive the award.
"I feel very privileged," said Timothy. "It has been a lot of hard work, but I have really enjoyed every minute."
He is now getting ready for his next challenge. The teenager is planning to take his private pilot's licence before going to university, and then hopes to do a degree in engineering at Loughborough University before joining the RAF.
