The sudden closure in the middle of last week of the bus shelters round Church Green and their demolition on succeeding days has been sufficient to remind people that a new bus terminus between Red Lion Street and George Street has been planned.
Work on clearing the site of the new terminus began two weeks previously.
Four old cottages standing by the Red Lion Street entrance were knocked down and the task of levelling, constructing loading bays and making another entrance from George Street began.
The new bus station will replace nearly all the present stops in Redditch streets.
