Residents of Watery Lane, Redditch, are dissatisfied with the name of their road because among other things, it is too depressing.
They think that a much more suitable name would be Ipsley Drive.
They will have their wish next month if a recommendation of the Public Works Committee is approved by Redditch Urban Council.
A petition from 30 residents was before members of the Public Works Committee on Monday and a letter was read from Mrs N Jones, of 44 Watery Lane, on behalf of the residents which stated: "We feel that Watery Lane is watery enough without having it as an address. Depressing isn't it!
"Most of the residents have agreed that Ipsley Drive is a suitable name."
