AMOST successful ball promoted by Dr Bodger and Mr J G Green, Manor House, in aid of the Military Band, took place in the Public Hall on Thursday.
The hall was most elaborately decorated with flowers, flags and art muslin and reflected credit upon Mr R Gibbs and members of the band who had taken charge of the work.
There was a large attendance of ladies and gentlemen.
Dancing was commenced at 8 o'clock and was kept up with vigour until the early hours of the morning.
The following gentlemen officiated as stewards: Dr Bodger, Mr J G Green, Mr C Ball and Mr W C Vale.
The arrangements were admirably carried out.
Messrs Spencer's Band provided the music and refreshments were supplied by Mr J Thompson.
