A centuries old building at Ipsley which once reverberated to the sound of corn grinding and needle making and now lies silent is slowly being re-fashioned into a park where there will be something more pleasing than the mundane hum of machinery.
The building, the centuries old Ipsley Mill, will instead reverberate to the sound of children's laughter and the pleasing noise of adults on holiday and the joyful splashing of people as they paddle and swim in the nearby bathing pool, all planned in an ambitious scheme by Mr George Lanley, who purchased the premises some years ago.
With its rural surroundings and the River Arrow flowing gently past, Mr Lanley believes that it will be one of the most popular spots in the Midlands when fully developed.
