A suggestion that the new lamp standards erected along Evesham road were 'most dangerous' was made by Mr V Court, a Midland Red bus driver, at Tuesday's meeting of Redditch Trades Council.
Mr Court said some of the standards were on the edge of the pavement and he felt that in a high wind there was a danger double decker buses pulling into the bus stops would strike them.
Councillor AJT Jobson said the council found it impossible to place all the standards off the pavement because of the presence of telephone cables.
