THE River Severn will come alive on Sunday as 28 dragon boat teams compete for prizes and raise money for local charities.
The dragon boat festival, which has been organised by Worcester South Rotary Club, is set to take place at The Riverside Centre at Pitchcroft in Worcester.
It is the first time the club has organised such an event. It hopes to raise up to £20,000, with more than 300 competitors being sponsored to take part.
The money raised will be split between St Richard's Hospice, Acorns Children's Hospice and Rotary in Action.
The racing will take place between 10am and 5.30pm. There will also be entertainment on the riverside, including a fairground, face painting, an auction and a classic car display.
The fun day is free to enter, and parking on Pitchcroft is also free. All are welcome.
