A TALENTED young organist will let off a volley of organ fireworks at a church in Alvechurch this weekend.
Keith Hearnshaw, whose programme will include music ranging from Bach's Toccata and Fugue D in minor to film music by John Williams, will appear at St Laurence Parish Church, in Alvechurch, this Saturday.
The dedicated musician has performed throughout the country in places such as Liverpool Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Rochdale Town Hall and Romsey Abbey.
He was an organ scholar in 1997 at Liverpool Cathedral which houses the mighty 146 stop Willis Organ, the largest church organ in Europe.
In December 2001 he was a guest organist playing duets with the great American virtuoso Carlo Curley and is soon to perform on the new £1m organ in Birmingham Symphony Hall.
His concert in Alvechurch will put the 1970 Thomas Sheffield Organ through its paces and is designed to bring organ concerts to a much wider audience than ever before. A full colour, digital video projection system will also enhance the experience for the audience.
The event starts at 7.30pm and admission is £5. Children with adults are free.
