HEADLESS Cross speedster Stefan Hodgetts is bidding to regain top spot in the Seat Cupra Championship at the weekend.
The Redditch driver was on blistering form at his home track in the last round and is just one point behind series leader Robert Huff with two more of the remaining eight rounds being held at Oulton Park at the weekend.
The 21-year-old former Formula Three hopeful won the very first Cupra race at Croft back in May but finished the weekend behind Huff and has trailed him ever since.
Despite two wins and 36 out of 37 available points at Silverstone in the last double header, Stefan is playing catch-up because his rival has claimed two second places and a win and weighed in with fastest lap bonus points to stay in front.
On his second outing Hodgetts came home seventh.
But the young driver has his sights on the championship prize of a works drive with SEAT in the 2004 FIA European Touring Car Championship and a flat in Monaco.
And he knows he will top the series if he betters Cambridgeshire rivals Huffs performances at the weekend.
