ABOUT 10 young people a week are approaching homeless agencies in Redditch, it has been revealed.
Redditch Council is now drawing up a five-year strategy to look at homelessness in the town and how it can be dealt with.
The strategy goes on to state that Redditch is in the top 50 per cent of deprived local authorities in the country, is the most deprived area in the county and Batchley is still the most deprived ward.
A Government Act made it compulsory for councils to carry out a review of current and likely future levels of homelessness and the services available to deal with it.
At an executive meeting last Wednesday, Redditch councillors discussed the strategy and it was mostly met with approval.
