CRICKET is going from strength to strength at Bromsgrove School with victory for the U11s in a West Midlands eight-a-side championship.
The Worcester Road school team won the event at Solihull School last Wednesday, beating Temple Gwliy School from Gloucestershire, King Henry VIII School of Coventry and Hereford Cathedral School en route.
They now represent the region in the national finals at Oundle School, near Peterborough, this Friday.
Qualification for the regional event was secured by default in the Worcestershire finals after other teams failed to complete matches.
Manager Gareth Jones said: "They have done fantastically well. We have had a very successful campaign but hopefully there is more to come."
The coach has also picked a squad of 11 for the final as some players have holiday commitments. One player, Joel Dudley, is even being flown back from Barcelona where he is watching brother Ben keep goal for England U16s hockey team.
Success has also been rife at Bromsgrove School with the U12s, U13s and U14s cricket teams all reaching their respective county finals.
