TOP Alvechurch matchman Ken Giles was the latest winner in the Northfield Starlets Veterans series, with a pole, chopped worms and casters catch of 33-9-0, from Woodland View's Arles pool peg 27.
Mick Scott (Bewdley) was a close second with 32-0-0.
Also at Woodland View, the Deans pool open went to Kevin Slade (Colmic) who pole fished corn and meat at peg six to take a 76-11-0 catch. Second, John Allerton (Dudley Bait and Tackle), with 69-10-0; third, Paul Foster (Blackheath), 46-0-0.
Wednesday's Woodland Views, Barley and Hay pool open produced a tight finish with Paul Foster (Blackheath) showing the way by pole fishing corn to take 92-7-0. Tim Guise (Mosella Slalpheads) followed with 86-6-0.
West Midlands Civil Service were on the Welford AC waters of the River Avon for its event. Club secretary John Askew took the honours from peg 26 below the weir, where he feedered hemp and casters to take Chub plus a bonus six-pound Pike for 11-6-0. Runner-up Graham Upton had a four pound Bream in his 7-0-8 catch.
Astwood Fisheries' Bluebell pool open was won by Rob Francis (Droitwich Angling Centre) with 43-1-0 taken with pole and corn from peg 17. Team mate Pete Bailey was second with 41-15-0 while third went to John Halfpenny's (Astwood) 26-5-0.
The Lodge Park evening series event saw Mick Stevens (Smithies Mosella) at peg 40 taking eight Carp for 36-9-0. Mark Harris (Lodge Park) was second with 28-10-0; third, Rob Bishop (Lodge Park), 23-10-0.
On Thursday, the KH Veterans were at Barbourne Pool, Cotheridge, and it was inform Stan James (Bewdley) who headed a close score sheet by pool fishing casters and maggots up in the water at peg seven for a 55-8-0 catch. Mike Millinchip (Kidderminster) took 52-14-0 or second with third going to Derek Buckle's (Bewdley) 47-7-0.
The Midland Bears AA held its event on Woodland Views Dean pool. Bert Sutton (Great Barr) won with a pole corn and meat catch of 73-4-0 from peg 16. Terry Shipley (Sheldon) followed with 54-14-0 and third, Matt Linforth (Northfield), taking 52-0-0.

Moorlands Farm's Meadow pool costcutter open was won by David James (Trabucco) with an 80-3-0 Carp catch taken with pole and corn from peg 15. Second was John Stockton (Heathway Tackle) with 76-0-0.
The three-hour evening Meadow pool open again saw James in top spot with a 185-15-0 Carp haul. Harry Ward (Moorlands) was second with 80-6-0 and third, Adam Toal (Lifestyle), 60-2-0.
Woodland View's Friday afternoon open saw a top ton-up catch of 107-8-0 for Dave Matson (Colmic) by pole fishing corn and meat at Hay peg six. Team mate Kevin Slade was second with 92-10-0 and third, Matt Cox's (Fieryholes) 89-13-0.
Saturday's Woodland View's Arles pool open was topped by John Watson (Woodlands) by pole fishing the margins of peg 10 for 85-0-0. Mick Carpenter (Pill Angling) took 78-15-0 for second with third going to Craig Gilroy (Haines Angling), taking 76-13-0.
The Broad Acres main lake open went to Bewdley matchman Bill Drew (Solihull Angling Centre) by pole fishing red meat in the margins of peg 40 for 35-2-0. Second was Pete Cooper's (Triplex) 19-14-0.
At Moorlands Farm, Steve Juliff (Pershore) set a new record for the Silver Carp pool with 132-1-0 taken with pole and corn from peg 45. Second, Lee Edwards (Mosella Welsh Wizards), took 106-10-0 and third, Darren Clewley (Strike Angling), with 82-6-0.
The annual 10-a-side challenge between Birmingham Civil Service and Telfish AC saw the hosts come out close winners with 43-7-8 to Telfish's 38-13-0.
Top individual was Gary Clayton (BMCS) with a pole and maggot mixed catch of 8-4-0 from peg 15; second, Keith Palfrey (BMCS) 6-13-0.
Sunday saw the 100 AC fish their Bob Sloane Memorial Cup at Uckinghall pool, near Tewkesbury. Winner Stuart Cutler alternated feeder and pole with maggots to take a mixed catch of 12-14-0 from peg 25. Yours truly Tony Brunn was second with 9-13-8; third, Keith Woodhead's 8-10-0.
Kings Norton AS fished its fifth and penultimate round of the summer league on the River Avon at Salford Priors. League leader is Bromsgrove's John Miller after taking a winning 5-3-0 of Cub with waggler and bronze maggots from the first peg below the Arrow mouth. Second place went to Matt Rainbow with 2-15-8.
Peter Bailey (Droitwich Angling Centre) won Astwood Fisheries' Smokey Joes pool open by feedering corn at peg 29 for 86-2-0. Team mate Rob Francis was second with 61-11-0; third, Barry Perkins (Chase AC), 36-8-0.
Stuart Pulsar (Shakespeare) took the Moorlands Farm open with the only ton-up catch of 104-14-0, pole fishing worms and casters at Island pool peg 14. Phil Weaver (Welsh Dragons) was second with 99-9-0.
The Woodland View's evening Deans pool open was won by Mark Westwood (Woodlands Elite) who just missed the ton with 97-9-0 by pole fishing corn and meat at peg 29.
