Fine weather and careful organisation contributed to a splendid summer outing for 19 volunteers and members of the Barnt Green Day Centre and Luncheon Club. Members were driven in volunteers' cars to the Lenchford Hotel, on the River Severn, where the sunshine, the view of the boats, the food and the service were all enjoyed. The trip was made possible with the assistance of the Retired and Senior Volunteer programme. Betty Lucas, co-manager and treasurer of the club, and organiser of the event, said: "Our members all said it was one of the very best days out!"
