The June meeting was at the home of member Lorna Hill and we were favoured with a fine evening for the conducted tour of the lovely garden with its long views over the valley.
Indoors Lorna demonstrated her skills in the art of sugarcraft, making delicate little roses and sweet peas with apparent ease to be used as decorations for cakes and similar goodies. Another delight was a fruit cake, which she had baked earlier in a flower pot, and which she had iced with terracotta-coloured icing, topped with dark brown sugar to represent soil and presented it as a raffle prize complete with real flowers stuck into the 'soil'.
Florence Catley thanked Lorna and her husband on our behalf for their hospitality.
