MUSIC is officially fun again thanks to speed-metal monsters Electric Six.
The Detroit disco punks have already had two hits from the two singles released off Fire (Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar) and there is no doubt there will be more on the way.
In fact it probably was their most recent release of the risky Gay Bar track that lifted E-6 from relative unknowns to familiar friends.
The video for Gay Bar has been apparently banned from American TV because of the portrayal of Abraham Lincoln along with the lyrics 'I wanna take you to a gay bar...gay bar...gay bar'.
As many a good band is aware - catchy controversial music equals soaring popularity.
Other songs like Naked Pictures (of your mother) and She's White are another couple of cracking songs but in fact the whole album has more than enough to keep you going.
A combination of catchy riffs, short song times and good lyrics all add to the impact of the album.
The six piece band, originally called Wildbunch, have been around since the mid 90s, led by highly charged singer Dick Valentine. Have a listen out for the backing vocals of Danger! High Voltage - is it Jack White of the White Stripes?
