BROMSGROVE Swimming Club took third place in the third and final round of the Mercian League at Wombourne last Saturday.
Lisa Newport recorded the first victory of the gala while Matthew Hunt took second place in the boys open 100 metres breaststroke.
The U14s boys 4x1 freestyle team of Adrian Rose, William Law, Neil Maisey and Tom Mansell claimed an easy first before Rose went on to take the U14s 100m freestyle. Louisa Ball won the open girls 100m freestyle.
Lucie Edmunds and Simon Smith swan to consecutive wins in their open 100m backstroke events. Loren Harrison won the 100m breaststroke.
Philippa Thomas, Chloe Daplyn, Sian Morgan and Jessica Leech fought valiantly to finish runners-up in the U10s girls 4x1 medley relay.
However, a disqualification and last position in two relays pushed Bromsgrove into third position behind Brierley Hill and hosts Wombourne.
l Bromsgrove's Diddy League team missed out on a top six finish for September's grand finale by one place.
Last Sunday in the county relays in Wolverhampton, Bromsgrove swimmers won 7 silver and 3 bronze medals to finish third overall.
