I HAVE never met Gavin Smithers, but from his article on the letters page I wonder whether he is of this world.
Does he really think that the people of Redditch feel an overwhelming need for things like yoga, cookery classes and litter picking?
What about paper folding, Mr Smithers? What about macram?
Since he has reached the exalted position of Council Leader, if he really wants to know what Redditch people want he only has to pick up the Advertiser.
Can I respectfully recommend he gives some thought to the following?
l Creating a safe and pleasant environment where people can work, rest, play and shop in safety.
l Creating a good and accessible market for local employment and shopping.
l Spend time creating road markings that are helpful rather than misleading and distracting.
That should be enough to keep him going for a while.
