AT the July meeting, John and Dorothy, two volunteers for the Acorns Children's Hospice in Selly Oak, came to talk about they work that goes on there to enrich the lives of the children and the support that is given to their families.
The friendship and love at Acorns was very apparent. Members learned about the new children's hospice to be built at Worcester and that September 21 starts National Hospice Week, when groups are encouraged to hold coffee mornings to help raise funds.
After the tea interval a report was given from the AGM at the Albert Hall, sent by Sheila Martin from Wythall and details were given about the quiz and supper evening on July 11.
The next meeting will be a member's evening. It will start early with a ramble and then continue as planned by Gwen Turner and her band of willing volunteers.
