THE 40th anniversary church service was held on June 26 at the Village Institute, Wythall.
The group welcomed Rev Fred Sharpe, his wife Freda and 11 founder members to the meeting.
The theme for the service was "Peace" with relevant hymns, readings, poems and prayers." Grateful thanks were expressed to pianist Jenny Calver.
Before giving his address, Mr Sharpe dedicated a beautifully written and illustrated copy of the Group prayer, worked by Joan Johnson, which had been framed and president Anne Wilson hung it on the wall of the Village Hall.
A collection raised £50, which Mr Sharpe asked to be donated to Betel at Windmill House, Weatheroak, who rehabilitate drug and alcohol abusers.
Members were reminded about the outing to Sulgrave Manor today and that as many cakes as possible would be needed for the stall at Wythall Carnival on Sunday, August 10.
Members and guest then tucked into a lavish buffet supper with wine, tea and coffee.
