THE first Summertime Concert on June 7 was a great success. The choir was in particularly good voice and the delightful atmosphere of the marquee at The Gate Hangs Well in Stoke Prior added to the pleasure of the evening.
There was an audience of well over 100 who were full of compliments and clearly enjoyed themselves.
The profits, which will go to the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre, are expected to be substantial.
The summer period from June to September is usually taken up with holidays so the choir has few engagements in the next few weeks.
They continue to work hard, however, with a view to the autumn concert series.
The next public concerts will be the Proms Concert at the Spadesbourne Suite in Bromsgrove on October 10 and Christmas Concert at the Rocklands Social Club on December 18.
Apart from these, the choir will be performing privately for clubs and groups in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area.
