SEVEN building sites in Redditch were shut down last month because of poor health and safety measures, it has been revealed.
The move came during a national investigation by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) officers who visited a total of 22 sites across the town.
Results from the blitz, released on Monday, also revealed standards in Redditch were the worst in the whole of Worcestershire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
The investigation formed part of a campaign set up to make people aware of falls from height, which is the biggest cause of death, injury and disability in construction.
