SOUTH Warwickshire Primary Care Trust's "Plan B" for Alcester Hospital is being put into action.
Instead of the original £2 million from the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority for a new hospital, a new way forward has been found for the Kinwarton Road site.
An agreement has been made between the PCT and four Alcester GPs to develop the site and deliver purpose-built premises for the GP practices, a new hospital building and more room for additional services.
But the £2 million strategic health authority funding could still be used if plans fall through.
Drs Singh, Lambert, Wallis and Braine are now working on appointing a team to develop the site.
The doctors will be seeking planning permission in October and if granted, they hope work will start in January.
