A MAN needed surgery to rebuild his face after he was attacked as he walked down Broad Street in Worcester.

The attack happened at about 11.30pm on Friday, July 4, and a man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Mediterranean Fish Bar and Peter Jackson's Furniture Shop when the assault happened.

"The victim was a man in his late 50s, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with silver hair," said DC Manny Sidhu.

"On the evening of the assault he was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt.

"I'm also keen to trace a young blonde woman who is thought to have been in the vicinity at the time."
