A BAPTIST minister from Droitwich will be enjoying a weekend in a Yorkshire hotel, after winning an Evening News competition to find the city's finest cleaning tip.
Gwendydd Askew won an all expenses paid luxury weekend for two at a country house hotel in Yorkshire after suggesting the best cleaning tip in the competition.
Mrs Askew, a baptist minister at Gt Lister Street Chapel, Nechells, Birmingham, suggested using baking soda on a damp sponge to remove grease and back splashes on stoves.
Mrs Askew - who works with different nationalities including asylum seekers and refugees who want to set up their own church groups - was also awarded a Spontex Home Beauty Kit and an Addis Kitchen set.
"Just some of the things I won included a large silver grey waste bin and two buckets. I have enjoyed using the Spontex products," she said.
Nine runners up received a Spontex home beauty box and an Addis kitchen set after the two-day competition in May.
Mrs Askew, who was told she had won the competition in June, will be taking her weekend break to north Yorkshire in August with her husband Tony.
"I'm really looking forward to it, it's fantastic," said Mrs Askew of Ombersley Road.
"When I found out I'd won the competition I was thrilled."
