BROMSGROVE MP Julie Kirkbride has been honoured for her work in making a difference for people living with cancer.
Mrs Kirkbride was presented with a "Macmillan Champion" award at a Westminster reception this week, compered by broadcasters Jeremy Vine and Francine Stock.
The award was in recognition of her role in shaping cancer care and support for people living with cancer, both in her constituency and in Parliament.
Mrs Kirkbride is patron of the Worcestershire Macmillan Cancer Relief Appeal and has supported the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
At Westminster she has also helped Macmillan's "Get Spent Where It's Meant" campaign, which aims to ensure cancer services money reaches the front line.
"Partnership is the hallmark of everything Macmillan Cancer Relief does to shape cancer care," said Peter Cardy, the organisation's chief executive.
"The fantastic support Julie has given us is really appreciated and we're delighted to have the opportunity to thank her."
