A FIRE that totally destroyed a bungalow at Hanley Childe last week has left a family homeless.
Two pumps from Tenbury Wells and one from Bromyard attended the blaze and a water carrier was sent from Kidderminster.
The alarm was raised at about 3.30pm last Thursday, July 3. When firefighters arrived Bridle Cottage, a 15m by 20m prefabricated building at the end of a country lane, was a blazing inferno.
Owners Nicholas and Heather Jaczynski and their two children were out at the time of the fire and no-one was injured. However, two dogs inside the building were rescued by neighbours.
Alec Mackie, press officer for the Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, said: "The building was gutted and nothing could be done to save it. All the firefighters could do was control the blaze and damp everything down."
Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
