WEDNESDAY CLUB: Met on July 2 when Mrs M Boath presided. Birthday cards were distributed and to members still on the sick list.

The trip to Weston-Super-Mare was thoroughly enjoyed and members now look forward to the mystery tour which takes place on Thursday, July 24, when coach leaves village hall at 1.30pm, a cream tea has been arranged at Cosy Corner, Broadway, on the way home.

Mr Peter Goode provided the entertainment for the afternoon by playing all the old favourites on his keyboard.

Cakes for tea were made by Mrs Turner, Mrs Hitch and Mrs Wetton and tea served by Mrs Sylvia Matthews and helpers.

A donation of tea was received from Mrs Stella Taylor, a friend from Welford.
