BOWLING: Kidderminster's Grant Burgess kept his head to help England salvage their pride in the final session of the British Isles International Bowls Series at Ayr.
England, who started their campaign bidding to win the title for a successive year, finished with a resounding 145-100 victory over Ireland, winning 19-3 on points, to avoid the wooden spoon.
Following defeats at the hands of Scotland and Wales, the England selectors dropped two of Gilt Edge ace Burgess's team-mates.
