JUDO: Greg Oertel led the Samurai charge at the London Junior Open with a gold out of nine medals for the Kidderminster club.
Perhaps the most notable of the other results was Katherine Lloyd-Jones' silver in her own limited grade group.
The up-and-coming 12-year-old produced one of the best throws of the day and then also took a bronze in the open grades section.
In the section for less experienced players, Jack Roberts, Charles Woodward and David Hadley all took bronzes.
Ryan Pitcock also claimed a bronze but was unlucky not to finish higher after a single mistake cost him a final place when he looked to be winning comfortably.
The higher grades section was tough but Benjy Connor's foot-sweeps and a good range of techniques from Tom Walker earned them both bronze medals.
Oertel, however, was not going to be stopped and won the gold with a series of good wins as he did not look like losing any of the contests.
