MOTORSPORT: Theresa Keightley found the going tougher on her debut in the senior motocross class but she was still happy.
The 46-year-old, promoted from the junior category before the weekend's competition in Redditch, was delighted with a fourth place in one of the 750cc races.
Keightley, of Far Forest, also finished seventh in her first contest but did not complete the final race after slipping on the greasy track.
In the 250cc class which included expert riders, she was seventh and ninth on her Yamaha before retiring as the longer races in the new class began to take effect.
Keightley admitted: "I was very pleased with fourth place in one of the races which was a lot better than I was expecting."
She will be racing in Wales and near Leominster over the next two weekends.
Meanwhile, at the Redditch meet, Stourport's Jason Bonham did well for third overall in the 750cc experts class.
Another Teme Valley Motorcycle Club member, Mark Richards, was fourth overall in the 250cc seniors competition.
