A CHAMPIONSHIP-winning snooker team from Wyre Forest went into overdrive when they cued up for a marathon effort to help charities pocket hundreds of pounds in donations.
The six-strong team from the Upper Arley Sports and Social Club chalked up 80-plus games in a 24-hour stint to raise more than £800 for a range of worthy causes.
Team members Ian Mundie, Pete Williams, Dave Postings, Richard Wright, Kevin Smith and Nathan Garbett decided to "pot-around-the-clock" as they celebrated a sporting first in the Bridgnorth Snooker League.
They had scooped the Division Two title as well as being awarded the accolade Best Sporting Team in the entire Bridgnorth league - the first time a team had won both in the 52-year history of the competition.
The team raised £300 each for the Air Ambulance and Macmillan Nurses and £115 apiece for Upper Arley CE First School and Kidderminster Carolians Junior Rugby Club.
