ALTHOUGH Evesham will be disappointed to have only taken three points from a home 3-3 draw with Droitwich, it could have been much worse.
In the top two games, Eve-sham lost heavily but Richard Minton and Sean Curtis ground out a victory on the last to take the first home point.
This was then doubled by a comfortable early victory from Rob Smith and Gavin Pugh.
At 2-2 in the clubhouse and down in both matches left on the course, things didn't look good. However, Lloyd Stephens and Brian Haines, after being three down with five to play, turned their match on its head and gained a half on the last.
James Bailey and Tom Walker were also struggling at two down with three to play only to take the honours at the 16th and 18th to share the spoils in their match and overall.
Evesham still hold second place in the standings with two games in hand and will be hoping for a large winning margin at home to Ross on Sunday.
Scores: N Wallis & J Williams lost 3 & 2; S Wood & P Stanley lost 4 & 3; R Minton & S Curtis won 1 up; L Stephens & B Haines halved; J Bailey & T Walker halved; R Smith & G Pugh won 3 & 2.
