GARY Seadon set a new record weight at The Fishery last Saturday when taking top spot in an Open contest with a bulging net of more than 34 pounds.
Society members fished a Severn Shield match at West Diglis the next day when winner Jim Blanch caught small skimmer on feeder. Members, tho-ugh, struggled for bites throu- ghout.
This weekend's match for members takes place on the canal at Stroud AC waters on Sunday.
Members uncertain of directions are asked to meet at Merstow Green at 6.45am.

IN LAST Thursday's third round Summer Evening Lea-gue match fished at a local lake, peg four once again proved to be the best.
Wayne Panting weighed in with 8.12.0 to a first victory in the competition.
Fishing from peg ten, Frank Lake (5.2.0) was second with Howard Norledge (3.7.0) third.
Twelve members and a guest angler turned out at Moorlands on Sunday for a third round match in the Wooffs Summer League.
It was Lake who turned out the best result of the day with mainly carp to 59.10.0 from permanent peg nine on the Silver Lake.
Joyce Harman (19.15.0) was runner-up from peg four just ahead of Ron Williams, who took 19.4.0 from peg eight on a day when all contestants caught at regular intervals.
Members are reminded that they should book in to secure their place for the next matches.
Evesham WMC
LOTS of small carp provided good sport for members at Manor Farm in the second round of the Stillwater Series.
The next match is at Rissington Road, Bourton-on-the-Water on Sunday, draw 7am.

YOUNGSTERS fished at Luddington last Saturday where Adrian Mitchell landed the day's biggest catch.
Using stick with maggots, the 16-year-old caught perch and bream for 4.08.0.
