A ROW of shops in a crime-hit area of Kidderminster is to get extra cash to improve security, the Home Office says.
Shops in Severn Grove have been allocated £20,000 as part of an allocation of cash from the Treasury's Capital Modernisation Fund.
It is the third year of handouts for the shops, which have already received money for toughened glass, steel shutters, alarms, lighting and CCTV cameras.
The parade is part of the Oldington and Foley Park ward, which is among the most deprived in the UK.
The latest bid will help pay for environmental improvements to make the parade look better and feel safer.
