THE Prudden Road Surfacing League had been led by Strat-ford C in recent weeks, but not even their sister side, Stratford B, could help their cause when losing 4-0 to Inkberrow.
The weakened visiting team from Stratford found life difficult against an ever-improving Inkbe-rrow side.
In fact they only managed to win 12 games in the entire match against the new title favourites who now lead by four points over the inactive former leaders.
Jonathan Bradshaw and Ant-hony Duggan beat Stratford's Simon West and Chris Peacock 6-4, 6-1 and the overcame Rob Davies and Simon Hodges for the loss of just one game.
Meanwhile Adam Hill and Tim Bradshaw got the better of Davies and Hodges by the same margin of victory, while also defeating West and Peacock 6-2, 6-3.Fourth-placed Studley A were held to a draw by hosts Chipping Campden A.
Clive Dalton and Garry Jackson managed to win both their rubbers, the first comfortably against Ken Dawson and James Righton 6-4, 6-2, and then by defeating Mark Kirkbride and Mark Evans 7-5, 7-5 in what proved a far tighter tussle.
However, their fellow pairing failed to manage a single game as Campden claimed a share of the spoils. Littleton A closed up on Studley after a 3-1 victory over Tanworth-in-Arden.
Full Scores: Dave Hubbard & Frank Meadows bt Nick Danks & Richard Littlechild (Tanworth) 6-2, 6-3, and Ken Jones & Ian Phillips 6-1, 6-1. Sean Witheford & Dixie Collins bt Jones & Phillips 6-1, 6-3, lost to Danks & Littlechild 5-7, 5-7.
Congratulations are due to Shipston who have been crowned champions of Division Four.
The club's 3-1 victory over Bidford B confirmed their summit place finish.
Closest rivals Stratford E lost 3-1 to FISSC B who are now only three points behind their victims and within reach of second place.
In the third match, Littleton C had a good 3-1 win over Ilmington giving them clear daylight above Bidford at the wrong end of the table.
