THE country's finest putters will gather in Stratford on Saturday for the British Minigolf Championship.
The competition takes place at the recently improved 18-hole course at the Recreation Ground.
Reigning champion John 'Ted' McIver and British No 1 Tim Davies will be among the strong field competing over three rounds for a share of the £1000 prize fund.
Both are expected to face stern competition from Stratford's own James Dexter (18) who holds the record score at his home course.
"People are often surprised to hear that minigolf - or crazy golf - can be played competitively," said BMGA chairman Peter Parr. "But holes such as those at Stratford are a true test of putting ability.
Local players now have a chance to test their putting skills alongside Britain's experts. Players of all standards are welcome and you don't need to have a handicap. £250 of the prize fund is set aside for the best local players.
