A LEDBURY primary school is today remembering one of its pupils who died in the motorway tragedy.
Nine-year-old Ryan McCoig-Lees died along with his father, Martin, and mother, Denise, in the crash on the M56, near Manchester, yesterday morning.
Pupils and staff at the school have paid tribute to the popular boy.
This morning, special assemblies were held at the school to inform the other children.
"This is a tragedy for his family, the school and all those who knew the family in the local community," said headteacher Celia Naylor.
"The family were very well known in the town and Ryan was an extremely popular pupil at the school.
"Ryan was mature and responsible, kind and thoughtful.
"He was a bright and friendly pupil."
Staff and pupils at the school have been offered counselling.
