THE long Summer Holiday is coming and so are the Malvern 'Taggers'.
This special tag rugby club for eight to 11-year-olds who live in the Malvern Hills district will be up and running from 6.30 to 8pm on Thursday (July 17) and every Thursday evening at Malvern Rugby Club for the duration of the long summer break.
Last summer, youngsters from Malvern Link and Poolbrook C of E Primary schools signed-up with the Malvern 'Taggers' club. All the youngsters enjoyed learning and playing tag rugby with the Malvern Rugby Club rugby coaches and when the rugby season finally got underway in September 2002, most of the Malvern 'Taggers' signed up as Mini or Junior members of Malvern Rugby Club.
This summer the invitation to join the Malvern 'Taggers' has gone out to all the primary school children in the Malvern Hills district giving even more children the opportunity to learn tag rugby skills.
And that's not all. As well as playing tag rugby, the youngsters will be given the chance to develop their speed, quickness, agility and running skills with special fitness and athletic coaches and play tag rugby matches against other tag rugby groups from Droitwich and Kidderminster.
If you are interested in joining the Malvern 'Taggers' or require further information you can contact the Malvern Rugby Club by telephoning 01684 573728 or emailing rugbypost@yahoo.com or you can call in and meet the coaches at The Clubhouse, Spring Lane, Malvern Link.
So this summer, tag rugby is the sport to play and if you live in the Malvern Hills district, Malvern Rugby Club is the place to play it.
