TWO Malvern artists will be exhibiting in London later this month after making it to the finals of a national competition.
Beth Barnes and Jill Townsend have both had work picked out from thousands of entries to make up a finalists' shortlist in the Elderly Accommodation Counsel Over-60s Art Awards.
Their work will be exhibited at the Art Awards stand at the Artists and Illustrators' Exhibition at the London Business Design Centre, Islington between July 24-27.
Ken Howard, president of the NEAC, and Susan Ryder, vice-president of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, will select six winners to receive £500 each.
Ms Barnes will be exhibiting an oil painting of a yellow rose, while Mrs Townsend's depiction of tulips will also be on show. Both said they were pleased to have made the finals of the competition.
The pair will be accompanied by around 20 friends and fellow artists when they make the trip down to the exhibition on the Sunday.
