TEMPORARY buildings could be used to house elderly residents while extension work is completed on their Malvern care home.
The Abbeyfield Society has applied to Malvern Hills District Council for permission to construct two buildings outside Abbeyfield House, in St Andrews Road.
A ground floor extension was approved last year and some of its nine residents will need to be moved before work starts.
"Abbeyfield House was built to Government regulations in the 1970s - it needs improvement and extra space for residents," said Martin Peach, a member of the society's voluntary committee.
The society has also submitted plans for a permanent summer house on its lawn.
