A bowling club has praised police for the way they have tackled vandalism problems.
Malvern Bowling Club (Priory) has been subject to a series of attacks over the last few months.
Windows at the clubhouse, off Orchard Road, have been smashed, seats dragged about the green damaging the playing surface and security lights have been broken.
President Ian Robertson said: "Money is tight within the club. Dealing with all this vandalism was becoming expensive. Quite apart from the financial impact of the damage, having to sweep up and tidy up afterwards was a chore.
"The club contacted the police and PC Paul Lambon and community safety officer Mark McKay started working on the problem." Mr Robertson said the club was delighted with the response.
"It gives me great pleasure to compliment the police, and PC Lambon in particular, for the support being given in combating vandalism," he said.
Mr Robertson said the constable took the initiative in increasing patrols near the bowling green, which borders Priory Park, and incidents of vandalism have dropped off.
"PC Lambon has taken very effective action, keeping the club informed as various positive steps were successfully taken," said Mr Robertson.
PC Lambon said: "There was a problem with criminal damage in the Priory Park area over several weeks in March, April and May. It was mostly the work of one group of teenagers and they have been dealt with in the appropriate way."
He said the father of one of the youths had offered to help pay for the damage.
