A STUDENT at Malvern College has received a prestigious award from the Air Cadets for outstanding achievement over the past year.
Timothy Pennock, 18, of Clevelode, near Malvern, is in the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at the college.
He was one of nine cadets chosen out of 9,000 to be awarded a Geoffrey deHavilland Flying Foundation medal last Sunday.
Timothy received the medal from the Chief of Air Staff at the RAF, Sir Peter Squire, at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
"It has been a lot of hard work but I really enjoyed it," he said.
In the past year Timothy has also completed a gliding scholarship and an RAF flying scholarship with the CCF. He plans to take his private pilot licence during his gap year.
He is a keen engineer in his spare time and hopes to do a degree in engineering at Loughborough University before joining the RAF.
