I STRONGLY oppose the Government's suicidal plan to permit traffic to use the hard shoulder on motorways.
Anyone who uses motorways is aware that periodically stationary vehicles are observed.
A vehicle travelling at speed on the hard shoulder is much more rapidly confronted by a stationary vehicle than is the case with a moving vehicle - hence, potential danger of accidents.
Emergency vehicles frequently need to use hard shoulders to reach incidents. Sudden vehicle faults occasionally require quick access to the hard shoulder - hazardous if it is thick with moving traffic.
Furthermore, how am I going to stop to make a cup of tea?
On another subject, I need guidance on joining the euro which, it is claimed, is necessary for business to simplify money exchange.
Does it mean that we also have to join the dollar, yen, rouble etc?
