CRICKET team-mates Ian Britton and Phil Mullen will face each other in opposing dug-outs tomorrow when Evesham United entertain Kidderminster Harriers (3pm).
The two managers donned whites to play in the same team in a six-a-side tournament in Bewdley last weekend but it's back to their more usual sport at Common Road in the first of their pre-season friendlies.
Harriers boss Britton is set to field a full-strength side and the Nationwide League Division Three club are also in action at Stratford Town on Sunday.
The Football League club's willingness to play Dr Martens Western Division side Evesham earned praise from Robins manager Mullen, a former manager and player at the Aggborough club.
"When you are the likes of Kidderminster Harriers it is nice that they get round to playing little clubs like ourselves and Stratford on Sunday," said Mullen. "We appreciate that and all credit to them."
Mullen will give most of his squad a run-out including new midfield maestro Kirk Master and Simon Marsh, who joined this week from Stourport Swifts, but Mark Shepherd is likely to be ruled out with a chest infection.
He is also poised to sign young midfielder Inderpaul Khela from Harriers after Britton decided not to offer the 19-year-old a permanent contract.
Khela, who made one substitute appearance for Harriers, had an extended loan spell at Common Road last season.
Britton, meanwhile, will be running the rule over a number of trialists including veteran striker John Williams and ex-Wolves youngster Graham Ward in midfield.
Former Sheffield United reserve defender Kevin Murphy, brother of ex-West Brom player Shaun, is the latest trialist addition.
Harriers' summer signing Matt Gadsby is poised to make his non-competitive debut following his move from Mansfield Town.
